LOTRO Midsummer Festival Guide (2026)

LOTRO Midsummer Festival - Lord of the Rings Online

Welcome to our Midsummer festival guide for the Lord of the Rings Online! Spring may be the season of romance, but summer is the season for weddings in LOTRO. This trend was started by King Elessar with his royal marriage to Arwen, and we get to celebrate year after year in a lovely, rebuilt and flower-bedecked Midsummer Minas Tirith, including the Volume V Epic quests. Celebrations have also spread to the tropical island getaway of Furtherholm in the Shield Isles with smaller festivities spread throughout Eriador.

The 2026 Midsummer Festival begins June 11, 2026.

Getting Started with Midsummer

To join in the festival, you have two options: party in the streets of Midsummer Minas Tirith or beach life at Furtherholm. You can earn the same tokens and barter for the same rewards at either place, you’ll just have a different assortment of quests and scenery available. You can choose to spend the entire festival in either location, or mix and match day to day or quest to quest. It’s up to you! There are also a few additional quests spread throughout Eriador that are only available during the Midsummer event.

Here is a rundown on how to reach all Midsummer Festival locations:

  • To Minas Tirith (Midsummer): Buy a ride from any far-ranging stablemaster, or use the map you receive from “The Festival of Midsummer has Arrived” quest (which will auto-bestow each time you login while the festival is active until you accept it).

  • To Furtherholm: Talk with Ikhajât to get the quest “A Midsummer Getaway” or “Return to Furtherholm”, or interact with the festival horse at the West Bree stables.

  • Traveling between the two: Speak to Ikhajât in Midsummer Minas Tirith or the Festival Dock-Master in Furtherholm.

  • Leaving The Festival (Furtherholm and Minas Tirith): From either, you may use a personal travel skill or enlist aid from a friendly Captain, Hunter, or Mariner to port you out. You can also take a stable-master ride out from Minas Tirith or a dock-master ride out from Furtherholm.

  • Eriador Midsummer Quests: These quests are all out in LOTRO’s open world of Middle-earth, but will require travel to and from just like you would normally do in the game — a great time to be a Hunter or Warden!

What’s New – 2026 Updates

2026 is shaping up to be an exciting year for Midsummer! While there have been no formal announcements on exactly what is coming this year, Standing Stone Games has confirmed that there will be fresh additions and brand-new rewards for 2026!

Once SSG announces the new rewards and any other updates, we will add that here so you can quickly find what is new in the 2026 edition of Midsummer!

Important Activities

As with all LOTRO festivals, Midsummer offers are many options for activities, but there are a few important things of note!

Wrapper Quests

Once you arrive at your preferred festival grounds, you’ll want to be sure to pick up the “wrapper” quests.

As with all LotRO Festivals, there is a set of wrapper quests to encourage daily play. The Midsummer wrapper has four tiers of three days each, requiring 12 total turn-ins of the daily wrapper to reap the full virtue experience and Midsummer token reward.

Pick up these wrapper quests from Faeleth at the city stables on the first tier or Captain Khâtaphos at the Cracked Flagon to get started.

Epic (Book) Quests – Volume V

While technically separate from the Midsummer festival, the Epic quest line for The Great Wedding — Volume V, Book 1: A Time of Celebration — also occurs in Midsummer Minas Tirith and was introduced to the game alongside the very first Midsummer festival in 2020. Like all other book quests, you can complete this quest line one time per character and can do so at any time, whether the festival is running or not. Whether you are looking to complete this story while celebrating Midsummer, or looking for an excuse to catch more of LOTRO’s Epic book quests, our guide will help you navigate Volume V.

Midsummer Festival Deeds

The Midsummer festival has several deeds that serve as great goals along your journey, offering titles, extra Midsummer Tokens, and even special cosmetics for completion. The festival deeds typically involve completing specific quest clusters or participating over multiple days. Below is a full list of Midsummer Festival deeds available in 2026.

For Love of Misdummer (Final) Deed

Here is a rundown of the major Midsummer Festival deeds to track. Note: Our thorough walkthrough of how to complete the deeds and their exact rewards is coming soon.

  • For Love of Midsummer: All three tiers of this deed progress simply by completing any valid Midsummer quest. If you are actively participating in the festival, you will unlock this naturally over time.

  • A Feast of Fellowship: This deed requires you to complete all of the individual “A Long-awaited Banquet” quests inside Merethrond (the wedding banquet hall). You will need to assist each member of the Fellowship (Frodo, Sam, Aragorn, Gimli, Legolas, etc.) to earn this.

  • Cat Confusion: Introduced with the Furtherholm update, this is a simple deed for completing the two versions of the Cat Conundrum quests.
  • Flickering Flame: This deed tasks you with completing the four different firefly lantern quests (Amethyst, Emerald, Ruby, and Sapphire).

  • Guests Gathered: Introduced with the Furtherholm update, this deed tracks your completion of the specific “Gathering Guests” activities on the island getaway.

  • Make it a Party: _____ Fireworks: These deeds will allow you to earn a permanent skill version of select consumable fireworks barterable from this festival. Currently there are individual deeds for Elanor, Green and White Niphredil, Niphredil, and Wedding Ring fireworks.

  • Inn League & Ale Association Trials: While not exclusive to Midsummer, the festival does activate the rival faction delivery runs and initiation quests, allowing you to progress their respective seasonal deeds.

Essential Midsummer Festival Tips & Tricks

Don’t forget to discover the Stable-masters. By default, the First/Workers’ Tier (City Stables) and the Sixth/Masters’ Tier (High Stables) are discovered for you, but discovering any other Stable-master on your own should unlock the rest of them for you. This will make getting around much easier.

All Midsummer Festival Rewards (2020-2026)

As with all major LOTRO festivals, Midsummer offers several rewards for participating and completing activities! While we are still actively working on compiling a complete list of rewards for the Midsummer festival, we do have a list of the types of rewards you can expect to find. All of these can be bartered for at the Midsummer Barter NPC (“Feredis — Midsummer Barter-matron”), who is located in Minas Tirith (Midsummer) near the City Stables and Main Gate (22.5N, 55.8W), and in Furtherholm (3.9S, 118.9W).

Reward Types:

  • Cosmetic Armour and Outfits
  • Mounts & War-steed Appearances
  • Cosmetic Pets
  • Instruments
  • Fireworks
  • Emotes
  • Housing Items & Decorations
  • Essence Reclamation Scrolls

Our tailors are hard at work stitching the pieces together on our Midsummer Rewards list. Check back later for more details on the rewards!

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get to Minas Tirith (Midsummer) for the first time?

When you log in during the festival, an auto-bestowed quest (“The Festival of Midsummer Has Arrived!”) will pop up on your screen. Accepting and completing it gives you a map item that teleports you directly to the festival version of the city. If you deleted the map on accident or cancelled that quest, you may also travel there from any far-ranging Stable-master throughout LOTRO’s world.

What level do I need to be to join the Midsummer festival?

Any level! The Midsummer Festival scales, meaning characters of any level (even level 10) can journey to Minas Tirith (Midsummer) and complete the quests without encountering dangerous, over-leveled enemies.

Do I need to do the regular Epic Story to do the wedding?

No. Volume V, Book 1 is completely independent of your standard Epic Quest progression. You can jump straight into the wedding festivities regardless of where you are in the main story or what level you are.
